What is Gestalt Therapy?

Gestalt therapy is a holistic, human-centred approach that invites you into a deeper awareness of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours in the present moment. Rather than focusing solely on the past or analysing distant memories, this form of therapy centres on what you are experiencing right now. It recognises that healing happens not in theory, but through direct experience.

At its core, Gestalt therapy is rooted in the understanding that we are interconnected beings. We are shaped by the relationships we form, the environments we inhabit, and the patterns we carry—often unconsciously. These patterns may have once served a purpose, but they can limit us when left unexamined.

In therapy, we work together to explore these patterns with curiosity and compassion. The aim is not to “fix” you, because you are not broken. Instead, we focus on helping you become more aware of yourself, reclaim your sense of agency, and integrate the emotional, physical, and mental parts of your experience into a fuller sense of self.

Gestalt therapy encourages creativity, authenticity, and genuine connection. Through conversation, awareness of the body, creative modalities, or meaningful personal objects, the process invites you to reconnect with yourself, with others, and with your innate capacity to grow and change.

Key Principles:

Core Values

At the heart of my practice are three guiding principles that shape how I work and how I hold space for each client: Compassion, Collaboration, and Inclusivity. These values are not just ideas — they are the foundation of the therapeutic relationship. They inform how I listen, how we work together, and how we create meaningful change. Whether you’re seeking clarity, connection, or healing, these principles help create a space that is grounded, respectful, and genuinely supportive of your growth.

Working with Neurodiversity

Whether you're pre-diagnosis, navigating the process, or reflecting on life post-diagnosis, I offer a space that is patient, flexible, and attuned to your. individual needs.

I have experience supporting neurodivergent clients through a range of experiences including anxiety, identity exploration, burnout, and the challenges of everyday life.

My approach is not one-size-fits-all. Together, we can use creative and adaptive methods that work for you - whether that's visual aids, written reflections, movement-based exploration, or role-playing practical scenarios such as preparing for a job interview or self-advocating in the workplace.

Inclusive Practise

I have experience supporting a diverse range of clients, from early adulthood through later life. I welcome individuals from all cultural, social, and personal backgrounds, and I offer a practice that is inclusive, affirming, and sensitive to LGBTQIA+ identities and experiences.

The space I hold is somewhere you can bring whatever is on your chest — whether it’s something barely forming or something that’s been weighing you down for a long time. It’s a place to speak freely, to be met with genuine presence, and to begin untangling mental fog and emotional tension at a pace that feels right for you.

Rather than staying at the surface of your story, we gradually begin to explore the deeper layers — the internal landscape. In Gestalt therapy, it’s vital to understand how external conditions shape us, while also recognising how we relate to those experiences internally. This process can help shift from relying on outside circumstances for stability, to developing inner clarity and self-direction.

That shift isn’t always easy. But over time, it can lead to a stronger sense of who you are, what you need, and how to move through the world with more ease and autonomy.

If you’ve made it this far, thank you for taking the time to explore my practice. Reaching out for support is not always easy, and whether you’re feeling uncertain, curious, or ready to begin, you’re welcome exactly as you are. Therapy is a deeply personal journey, and my role is to meet you there — with care, curiosity, and respect. If something here has resonated with you, I invite you to get in touch. You don’t have to figure it all out alone.
